Our Story
We have always been dog people through and through, but our own Black Labs helped us realize how truly lucky humans are to have the unconditional love and companionship of pets. Inspired by the desire to make all pets feel lucky and loved, we founded Lucky Dogs in 2008 with the goal to help our clients’ pets live happy and healthy lives. From Lucky Dogs’ quality pet store in Skaneateles, New York to our premium canine services, the Lucky Dogs team ensures our products and services are tailored to best meet the needs of each and every pet. Whether your pets need care and companionship while you’re away on vacation, the convenience of grooming at your home, or you want healthy foods and unique toys and treats to pamper your pup, you will feel confident trusting Lucky Dogs to provide the best of the best. We will love and care for your pets as if they were our own, guaranteed.
Our Expert Team
Amy – Owner
In 2008, Amy recognized the need for in-home pet care services in the community and decided to do something about it. She began pet sitting & dog walking herself, and over the years, the Lucky Dogs team has grown in response to client needs. Mobile dog grooming was added in 2012 and the Lucky Dogs store was opened in 2017. Amy & her husband, Pat, love being a part of the Skaneateles community and are proud to run a local business.
Pat – Owner
Pat worked in medical sales and traveled all around North America for 25 years before retiring in 2017. After enjoying some much deserved R&R, he joined the Lucky Dogs team in 2018, working both behind the scenes and at the store. When he’s not at the store, he can often be spotted around Skaneateles with their Labs, Saoirse & Caoimhe.
Chelsea – Certified Groomer
Chelsea has almost a decade of grooming experience and has been a Lucky Dogs team member since 2015. She has always been a pet-lover and is the fur mom to two dogs, a cat, a snake, and several fish.
Heather – Pet Sitter & Dog Walker
Heather is a mom, dance instructor, and life-long animal lover. No matter how much love you give pets, they give you exponentially more.
Chelsea – Pet Sitter & Dog Walker
Chelsea knew as a child that she wanted to work with animals. She has worked for Lucky Dogs for several years, has become our “puppy expert”, and treats every animal as if they are her own. She has 2 cats and 2 dogs, and has rescued/re-homed many more over the years.
Kristin – Pet Sitter & Dog Walker
Kristin has been caring for animals big and small her whole life. Her favorite part about working for Lucky Dogs is getting to know all of the different personalities she meets among her four legged friends!
